How Training Works at Ian4Dogs
Every dog is different. That’s why all training with Ian4Dogs follows a clear, structured process tailored to your dog and your lifestyle.
1-to-1 Individual Training Sessions
All training starts with 1-to-1 work. These sessions focus on small but meaningful adjustments that create real change in your dog’s behaviour. In some cases, one session is enough to resolve the issue.
Initial Consultation (Required)
Before any training plan begins, I carry out a 1-to-1 consultation (listed under Individual Training).
This session allows me to:
- Assess your dog properly
- Understand the root cause of the behaviour
- Decide whether simple training or deeper behaviour modification is needed
Behaviour Modification Programmes
If the behaviour is more complex, we move into a behaviour modification programme.
This takes more time and structure and may include:
- Your dog staying with me once or twice per week
- Practical, real-life training situations
- Gradual behaviour change rather than quick fixes
At the end of the programme, you are trained as well, so you fully understand how to handle and maintain the progress at home.
Owner Training & Homework
Every client receives clear homework after each session.
This is essential so you can:
- Practise correctly at home
- Build consistency
- Maintain long-term results
Home Visits
I also offer house calls, depending on distance.
A travel expense may be added for home visits outside my usual area.
